DeMun Avenue Walking Field Trip

DeMun Avenue Walking Field Trip

When we return from spring break, our class completes our study of Long Ago and Today by taking a look at our school neighborhood. We will compare photos of the old DeMun School and Captain. We learn about the street car line that ran down the middle of DeMun Avenue.  Students use a copy of an old fire department map of DeMun to locate building from the 1950’s and today.

DeMun Avenue Walking Field Trip
Friday, March 27
2:30 – 3:15
5 chaperones needed

Parent chaperones are needed for the DeMun Avenue map experience to accompany a small group of children. Groups walk along the DeMun shops and label a map with a few shops as they look now.  The map shows how the same building was used long ago.  Next we walk to Concordia Seminary to look at the log cabin. Finally, if the weather is nice, we end at the DeMun playground to let the children play for a few minutes before returning to school.

Please let me know if you can chaperone our trip.
Thanks
