Happy Valentine's Day

Oh How I love You, Let me Count the Ways......
We passed out Valentine's cards to each other, played Bingo and Musical Chairs. We ate chocolate covered strawberries, and cookies. Thanks to the parents who were able to come and help celebrate.

Timeline

Timeline Project
To launch our Long Ago and Today social studies unit, students will be creating personal timelines in the computer lab Monday (2-24) and Wednesday (2-26).  They will be typing short descriptions from each year of their lives, adding a few photos, and arranging the timeline in a creative format.
At home:
·      Please help your child complete the attached timeline notes. Short phrases or sentences are best so your child can type and also have time to experiment with the graphics.
·      Send 2-3 digital or paper photos of your child at different ages. These will be scanned into the computer. Original photos will be returned promptly after scanning. Digital photos can be sent to: jenigoode@claytonschools.net
·      Please send in by next Thursday, February 13th !
At school:
·      Students will work in the computer lab Monday (2-24) and Wednesday
(2-26) from 2:30 – 3:20.
·      Timelines will be displayed in the hallway outside our room for 2 weeks. You are welcome to come upstairs to see them.
Thank you for your help with this fun project.

Seussical the Musical

This week we got to see a live show titled Seussical the Musical at Florissant Civic Center. Thank you to the Captain PTO for paying for the tickets.

Weight and Scales

Math chapter 10 allowed the children to explore weight and the use of scales. We learned terms such as: heavier, lighter, as heavy as, and heaviest and lightest. We used balance scales to deepen our understanding of the vocabulary.

Bubbles!!

We finished our Science unit on Wind, Air and Weather.
For a fun finally activity, we went outside to learn how wind moves bubbles.
The air inside the bubbles allows the bubbles to float and be moved by the wind.

Happy Chinese New Year

Kindergarten students paraded around the school saying "Gung Hey Fat Choy" or Happy New Year.
It is the Year of the Horse.
